About the Role
Experience the world as a luxury cruise ship musician. We are seeking dynamic, highly versatile 6-piece dance bands to entertain guests across premier venues on luxury cruise liners. Bands must deliver 5-star-plus entertainment , with performances ranging from main theater showpieces to high-energy pool parties and intimate lounge sets.
Area of responsibility
Develop and execute a sensitive, varied dance and entertainment program suited for high-end international guests.
Maintain the ability to split the band into two independent, simultaneously deployable music formations.
Perform versatile sets adaptable for full amplification, unplugged/acoustic setups, or backed by supporting tracks.
Create and submit daily live performance setlists for music rights society compliance.
Coordinate daily with the onboard Entertainment Manager regarding performance venues, schedules, and guest requests.
Assume host duties and integrate actively into the onboard ship community while maintaining strict 5-star professional standards.
Scope of duties
Perform daily across various onboard venues (lounge bars, pool deck, main theater) with a maximum daily playing time of 6 hours.
Prepare and execute two 45–50 minute feature band production shows in the main theater.
Provide musical backing for guest artists when required, including participating in scheduled rehearsals.
Perform for specialized events including sail-in/sail-out receptions , beach BBQs , and acoustic boat excursions.
Maintain, care for, and transport musical equipment to various onboard performance locations.
Adhere to formal 5-star dress codes for all performances and guest-facing hours (e.g., black suits, formal evening attire).
Qualification/Work Experience
Lineup: 6-piece band consisting of Drums/Percussion, Bass/Double Bass, Guitar, Piano/Keyboards, Vocalist, plus 1 additional musician.
Comprehensive repertoire of at least 400 songs spanning Pop, Rock, Disco, Oldies, Jazz, Swing, Latin, Reggae, Bossa Nova, and Ballroom standards.
Prior dance band experience (preferably on luxury cruise vessels or top-tier venue contracts).
Strong sight-reading, musical adaptability, and quick learning capabilities.
Fluent English language skills (spoken and written).
